the disappointing replay of David Freese's triple sailing over Nelson Cruz's head ...
Cruz makes that catch and the WS is over.
I've seen it replayed many times and it sure looks like he terribly "mis-timed" it.

Yeah I have watched Nelson Cruz going for the ball that ended up being a triple. It looked to me like Cruz was “too” aware that wall was coming up. Natural response, but he could have made that catch.

It seemed that Cruz was reluctant to go all the way back to the wall - but, also, the ball appeared to tail away from him at the end. It was catch-able, sure, but no certainty.
