"When should you kill a cop?" is an abstract question, with no context.

What if the cop is part of the Gestapo? Is that different from when the cop is part of the Mounties? Or maybe your local school guard?

If resistance to a tyrannical government is justified, killing almost any government official, cop or whatever, is probably justified.

If an unjust or illegal action by a cop can be addressed satisfactorily by the justice system, then killing a cop is probably not justified.

The problem comes when not killing the cop is likely to result in serious injury or death to yourself or a loved one. When it comes down to the cop or you, the choice is obvious. Better to be tried by twelve than carried by six.

And the answer is for the two minutes while an "Occupy XXX" protestor is pouring excrement and blood on the cop, so the cop can use that as a defense against brutality charges when he *then* uses his nightstick on the Commie provocateur.

Actually, using deadly force is authorized when a deadly weapon is menacing ... tainted blood, large stones being hurled, bottles and metal objects flying, time to shoot the little commie filth and step over their carcasses to get to the rest of the vermin.

Yep. But, I’ve been called a bootlicker or worse, for just stating the opinion that cops are - for the greatest part - just regular guys doing a lousy job. The color blue seems to bring out the worst in some FReepers.

Ok, so what? Doesn’t matter what the circumstances, if you shoot a cop, there will be a lot of trouble. Whether it escalates into something or not, depends on the circumstances.
