I had a liberal Ann Arbor cop living next door for a while. He was a young guy and being a cop in Ann Arbor was making him a conservative in a hurry.

As he said, he didn’t have to worry about conservative neighbors retaliating against his wife or daughter.

My advice - don’t shoot the deputy; that seems to be a mitigating condition.

In every video I saw, the crowd was pushing and pressing up close against the police line. They were intent on overwhelming the police with massive numbers and forcing them up against buildings. Or, they were throwing rocks and bottles at the police.

I was around the last time this sort of behavior took place. Every *police riot* was instigated by the hardcore cadre, who then dodged off to one side, so the less savvy crowds behind them got the brunt of the response.

There are trainings, always, beforehand, in leftist protests. People are told how to protect themselves from teargas, how to go limp, how to break out of restraints. Of course, they are not told what to do when their compadres are stampeding over them and fighting with riot squads right on top of the fallen.

The cadres know the stakes and the goals. The rest are cannon fodder. Cannot wait to see how everyone else responds to the martial law they are trying to provoke. The left hopes you blame the authorities. Then, they can commence with the Communes (similar to Soviets, meaning councils) and the Terror.

The deadbeats at Red October are handing out literature like this, but then they expect us to boo hoo about some Marine Corps reject in Oakland who took a tear gas can to the noggin?

Maybe the police ought to be distributing pamphlets detailing “When to Shoot a Hippie Parasite.”

The one Phoenix cop I knew spent a lot time at their range burning up seized ammo. They will shoot back.

More satanic disrespect of authority.

Nothing wrong with disrespecting authority. Authority should be disrespected.

Ask Jon Stewart. He disapproves of First Responders who hassle Owssies.

From that whole OWS crowd, maybe 1 out of 100 would even dare touch an eeeeevil gun? Sounds like the wrong audience to me.

They need to ask Mumia Abu Jamal about when to shoot cops.

Maybe they already have.

The full text of the pamphlet is reposted at your link.

Could have been written by any of the Liberaltarian posters here at FR. In fact, it may well have been.

Well, there is an “OWS” mentality here or there on Free Republic that reflexively buys into the media inaccuracies and sensationalism. They take the bait hook, line, and sinker just as the Leftist intended.

I wonder if this is not a stunt pulled by a provocateur. The powers to be fear the small gov Tea Party because it will reduce crony capitalism, but OWS is hitting a raw nerve based on hatred and anger at bankers and the rich (powers to be). When you threaten the rich and their families, they do not sit idly by. How ruthless is the PTB class, the EU PTB used to rag on Turkey for having a power military political class. Get rid of it before you can enter EU was the demand. When Greece was shaky on passing austerity to pay the bank losses, the EU hinted to the Greek military that if they pulled a coup and re establish order thru a military junta, Greece can still stay in the EU. When real power is threaten all laws and liberties can be suspended by them and no ruthless act is impossible. I say pamphlet is a plant.

Yes, there is. Many of the “single politics” issues I see going on at the OWS “rallies” I see here (other issues of course, whether folks don’t like some stance of Cain (and I have seen NO indication that any dislike is racial), or Romney, or Perry, or whomever).

That is great. I would like to see a hard fought nomination contest, and above all that we get the best possible candidate.

But... the day (in fact the hour) after the nomination is delivered, I would like to see all conservatives get behind whoever the nominee is, and do their utmost to support him or her to get Obama ought of office.

The MSM will try to aggravate these pre-convention divisions.

Don’t fall for it.

Oddly enough, I think they have a point. To explain.

Prior to the 1970s, police operated under what could be called “Old West” rules for gun use. This meant that guns remained in holsters, and when they were removed from holsters, it meant that someone was going to be shot, with a good chance they would be killed. And backing up this rule was the *certainty*, in the law, that someone who murdered a police officer would be executed, swiftly and judiciously.

But in the 1970s, two things happened. The first was that the death penalty was thrown out by a liberal Supreme Court. The second was that several police officers were assassinated by radicals in the US.

The response to this was the nationwide promulgation of SWAT rules by police departments, who were encouraged to do so by the federal government. This meant frequently guns were brandished and paramilitary weaponry became common among even small police forces.

Since that time, however, there has been a major increase in police powers, authority and a concomitant decline in responsibility for excessive use of force. Constitutional protections, especially since 911, have been eroded to meaninglessness.

And there is a national unwillingness to reverse this situation, moving the nation into a progressively police state, with federal police agencies, power, and a willingness to use force now in between 50 to 100 agencies. Fully funded and then some by RICO wealth seizures.

This has to end, and end dramatically. There is no legitimacy to the creation of this national police and security/intelligence apparatus nightmare, which is stripping away citizens rights at just a blinding pace today.

But this DOES NOT mean killing police officers.

What it does mean is three things: demilitarization of law enforcement officers throughout the US; the reduction of federal police authority to just several agencies: the FBI, the US Marshals Service, the US Treasury Department, and a few others; and the restoration of civil rights which have been taken away since Prohibition.

And in exchange, the restoration of a quick and certain death penalty for anyone convicted of killing a law enforcement officer. Which means strictly limiting the involvement of federal appellate judges from hearing such cases.

Most of the Patriot Act, which is mostly used against ordinary crime, not terrorism, should be discarded. The TSA should be fully privatized, funded by airports and airlines, giving them the level of security that *they* want.

And there needs to be a federal privacy and database act, severely limiting the circumstances under which federal agencies and even private corporations and individuals can obtain and preserve personal information about individuals.
