Shot dead, huh. As opposed to shot alive?
Looks like a dog.
Looks about like a sick dog to me.
I was up in the mountains cutting pines with an hispanic crew about 7000 ft ASL, 30 miles or so from Las Vegas, New Mexico, at about 6:40 in the morning....
Sun not quite up, but enough light to work.... fog everywhere (or clouds, depending on how you count things).....
And then, in the distance, we heard a terrible wailing sound (in truth, a horny elk, I know that sound).
I motioned all to silence their chainsaws, and we strained to listen, and heard it again...
I made lifting motions with my hand and said "Chupacabra.... get to work".
We cut more trees before 9am than I had ever seen. We were off the mountain by noon.

It looks like a dog sick with mange.
It`s a Blue Tick.
Its a Dingo.
A Dingo ate-cha baybee.
Lots of toxins out there for animals to ingest, looks like a very sick hairless mangy dog or coyote. Then again, it could just be a Democrat or something else scary.
That’s an old photo.
It is a fox with sarcoptic mange. I see them all the time, poor creatures. Better off dead—the homeowner who shot it did it a favor.
My sister and BIL live NW of San Antonio and saw some animal similar to that on their place. It came up their drive alongside some feral hogs.
