The Detroit Tigers had a huge collapse a few years ago.
They still won the Wild Card and made it to the World Series.
The bigger collapse was the Blue Jays in '87, when they lost their last 7 games and blew a 3 1/2 game lead to the Tigers.
I assume you’re talking about 2009? The Tigers didn’t collapse that year so much as the Twins took off and played exceptionally well. Even then...there was a one game playoff to decide the division and it went to extra innings.
Hard to call that a “collapse”
