Sometimes they just need love and attention. I rescued a cat once who was just... neglected and I guess you could say, depressed. She was severely dehydrated, lethargic, a bag of bones. Vet was talking dialysis (for a cat??) I took her home and just gave her water and nutrients with an eye dropper, and kept her on my lap a lot, and petted her and stroked her and talked to her and fussed over her... and she survived, and recovered, and lived several more years.
That is a beautiful story. What a fortunate cat.
I picked up a cat for my friend who is 101 yrs old.
Took one look and said “we’ll take her”.
was told they need to the home she was going to and told them “unneccessary. All animals love us
They insisted I at least hold her but was warned she’s a scratcher.
So I picked her up and she just folded in my arms and looked up at me, purring, as if she was saying “take me home and I’ll love you”.
they were surprised and said she had scratched everyone.
I told them “ I’m telling you animals and kids love me”.
“wheres the the kitty supplies?
I walked out a great little baby and wheni pull into the driveway she jumps into the meowing as if to say “ I’ve been waiting. Hurry up and get in here. I have an itch I need you to scratch”.
I hope we can have her when god calls my friend home.
