I think Palin's unfavoribles are wide, but less than an inch deep

Posted on 09/18/2011 3:07:02 PM PDT by se_ohio_young_conservative

Obviously there is no logical reason for her unfavorables in the polls to be what they are. Did she do anything like let an intern give her oral sex or get involved in some disasterous scandal ? absolutely not. There is NOTHING on her. They have looked and looked and looked. Nobody has found a thing. She seems to be the kind of leader that the American people are wanting to represent them.

They do. I contend to you that her unfavoribles mean NOTHING. It is useless polling data and should have no impact on who wins the nomination in 2012. If she gets the nomination, she would win electoral votes based on national and global events (the economy, ect)

I believe the number of Americans who hate her with a passion is very very small. The unfavoribles you see in the polls are a result of some very shallow group think left over from the 2012. Nobody has seen Saraj Palin run her own national campaign. It would not take much at all to turn those numbers inside out.

What we see here is that the anti palin people in this country are just very loud. Conservatives hear them and for some reason think the high volume of their voice mean they have huge numbers. Even some here on FR get their information from people who hate them and then they are ignorant enough to toss it around like it is fact !

We actually had some FReepers that supported Guiliani. I think he was an excellent mayor for NY. But that's about it.

I hope we clean out the Alinsky marxists in 2012 too. We HAVE to!

Teddy Roosevelt was the Ross Perot of his day. His greatest accomplishment was handing the election victory to the weakest, most foolish president in our history.

All of TR’s battles were imaginary, much like the current GOP primary ‘debates.’ Powderpuff derbies at most.

There will be no contest until the candidate officially enters the race. Then the Mediots will have a real quandry on their hands.

No, I was a dues paying member of Young Republicans...and not a fan of RFK.

I don't remember him being popular...he wasn't among the people I knew.

Agreed. I think she needs to go into the belly of the beast to rehab her image.... debates, tough interviews, the whole gamut to retrieve her image.

I am glad you did not use the synonym for Rooster.

I have been seeing a pattern here for a while. The Texas Perry supporters are so loony where he is concerned and lie and are mean and nasty to both Bachmann and Palin supporters. The Texas non Perry supporters are just the Opposite, really salt of the earth great people, and are the reason that I tell people that dislike Texans because of Perry supporters to please not judge all Texans by a few over the top “how bout them Cowboys” mentality.

This is not a football game, this is our very survival, and we do not need someone that is for Sale, and always has been. We have that now in DC.

Unlikely, but then what? Bill Clinton redux?

That would be the most optimistic outlook on a Perry regime.

I don’t pretend to support her. She’s not a good candidate, too many negatives for the general election. if she wants to rehab, she needs a lot if work and so far is not doing it. I don’t have PDS. I couldn’t cate less, however.

Perry has a record as governor and as a private citizen that says otherwise.

Perry has a great reputation among his fellow Republican Governors, even Palin gushed about him until she decided to imply he was for sale. Nikki Haley, Bobby Jindal, John Kasich and many other Republican Governors like and will endorse him and have nothing but great things to say about him.

By Palin playing her game, she has begin to put herself on the outs with the very party she purposes to want to run for office from.

Reagan was clearly the weakest opponent when measured against Carter (http://www.uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=115543.0). This poll and others like it convinced Carter that Reagan would be the easiest opponent to beat. You seem to be saying that presidential polls more than a year before the actual election are unmovable and we should just nominate the person that matches up the best in the early going, which is Romney if you believe the polls. I do not. Reagan was behind by 29 points one year before the election. According to your logic he should not have been our nominee. Your premise doesn’t hold up and we can do better than Romney. Whether that is Palin or another true conservative, I am tired of having to vote for loser establishment RINO’S like Romney, McCain, Dole, Bush Sr., Ford, and Nixon. We are heading toward the abyss at a hundred miles an hour with Obama. Changing to Romney or some other liberal Republican leaves us going toward the abyss at a slightly slower pace, but we are still headed for disaster. We need someone who has a history of changing the system; someone who has a history of exposing corruption, even if it is found in their own party; someone that leads from a desire to see their country do well, instead of someone who is “the next in line”.

You nailed it. I was telling some friends that when I watched the “Undefeated” on PPV,I saw the Sarah that we remember, and will see again.

She has made all the right enemies while she did her job, and she is making more enemies by sending signals that she will get rid of the Pay to play corruption in Washington.

Why is i that the elected officials do not even live in the State they Represent. Look at Landrieu from LA, she is the tip of the iceberg. They should enact a law that states that Senators and Representatives should have to live in Dorms near the Capitol. No exceptions. Just get them the hell out of Washington when they have voted. You can do almost everything by Computer and Video now, they do not need to be there sucking up to K and J st, it is a sickness.

You better start reading the info that freepers that live in Texas provide about Perry. Not good,no way.

If they have the info, don't you think the rats have even more? Remember he was a longtime Democrat in a state with no ethics rules, and new Legislation that makes it harder to make crooked Politicians pay for their crimes.

Most all of us used to be Democrats, but we were almost always were very conservative. We did not Support Carter and Gore, and we did not think Liberal ideas were the way to go.

The dallas Morning News?! LOL.

Now in order for Palin to be President her supporters will try to destroy Perry, the Lt.Governor and the Texas Speaker?

You people have lost all sense of decorum and I have no idea how you plan to woo Perry supporters to your side. Then again you aren't trying, you doing it the Chicago way and you represent your candidate, destroy to build your 10 percenter up. That never works. Remember who coined the term "voodoo economics" or who brought up "Willie Horton" first? They were the losers of their primaries but the media carried the smears into the eventual winners general election campaign.
