There have been four small aftershocks tonight all near the original quake site. I am about 15 miles away and felt a 2.7 earlier, the others were lower. So we are not quite done with this one.

Weird. I’m in Arlington and I swear there have been a few moments when I found myself trying to figure if it was a tremor or just my heart. No sound, just something barely perceptible...

Sometimes it almost seems like small tremors give one a dizzy feeling.I have felt some 2.0’s when they were close by, but more like a feeling of dizziness.

Hate to tell you this but you could experience some aftershocks of some degree in strength for some time to come..We had them for months after the San Simeon earthquake in 2002 which was a 6.5..it does jangle the nerves but you will get used to it. The little ones are not much to worry about..just the biggies.

I don’t need the USGS to tell me about this. My beagle tells me. She’s been very accurate so far, when I look at the chart. I’m north of DC, though, so it’s interesting that she can detect these little 2.0 aftershocks that are 100+ miles away. I think the USGS ought to hire her and pay her 31 steaks a month for her expertise.
