Don't hold back Newbie. I want to hear the whole rant. I am a supporter of Palin and I ain't rabid. When the cards are all on the table then I will go for another if she's definitely not in. I don't like Romney, West, Newt, Pawlenty, Bachman, Paul, Huntsman, Cain, Perry or any of the others out there. Palin has been vetted thoroughly and the press has to make up stuff to get at her. The MSM is going to exploit the rest of them ad nauseum and rip them a new one whenever the choice has been made. The MSM has already given Palin their best shots and she's still up and at them. There's only one Palin and she's not theirs.

I’m still undecided, except that I won’t vote for Romney, Newt, or Huntsman.

So a private citizen celebrity signing autographs means she isn’t running for President? Please explain that statement.

The thing is, if Palin doesn’t jump in and run in 2012 her political career is over.

You're a RINO and your candidate's a RINO too. /s

I got the Ron Paul email too.

Newt won the debate on substance and passion but he's flatly unacceptable to far too many.

Perry is NOT an "open borders" guy. Check with NumbersUSA, they document his opposition to amnesty and pathways to citizenship. He put Texas Rangers on the border. He signed voter ID. Texas uses E-Verify though Perry may be a critic. He attempted to ban sanctuary cities in the special session, it passed the TX Senate but not the Assembly.

Yes, 10 years ago he signed the Texas DREAM Act but he's not Bush. He's not McCain. He's not Graham. He's not Obama.

He supports a short term, limited need-based guest-worker-only program that requires payment of taxes and permanent ban of criminal aliens.

Let's focus on Perry's whole record. Unlike many candidates Perry has a very long and deep public record to scrutinize. Anyone in politics as long as Perry is going to have said, done a few things we won't like.

We're getting down to the wire.

We've got the crazy 8 from last night (Bachmann, Cain, Huntsman, Newt, Romney, Ron Paul, Pawlenty, Santorum), 3 so marginal they didn't rate the debate (Karger, McCotter, Johnson) and tomorrow Perry gets in.

There are a few still threatening to get in like Rudy, Huckster or Bolton but only Palin seems a realistic candidate to enter.

The next listed debate is Sept 7 at the Reagan Library with POLITICO & MSNBC (WHAT?!)

CNN & Tea Party Express have a debate scheduled for Sept 12 and FOX (with GOP Fl) is up again on Sept 22 in FL.

My vote will go to a candidate that I believe to be a principled conservative. There are a few “litmust test” issues that will preclude my voting for a candidate. Among these are: 1) Illegal Immigration; 2) Cap & Trade/ Global Warming; 3) Supporting socialized medicine (or socialized anything else for that matter) at any level.
For me this excludes Perry, Gingrich, and Romney. I will never cast a vote for any of these men for any position of public trust. If one of them should win the Republican nomination, I will either vote for a third party candidate (if applicable) or I will do what I did in 2008 — write-in Ronald Reagan.

A candidate need not be “perfect” (i.e., agree with me on everything); but my days of voting for the lesser of two evils (or the greater) are long since over.

Make of it what you will ... or don’t.

A Ryan-Rubio ticket would give us control of the White House for the next 16 years. We need a good old fashioned draft.

Bashing other people's opinions without having any of your own worth mentioning is worse than useless. That's the Obama technique.

Kinda hard to imagine a DU troll being in deep cover since 1998.

I agree the bashing sucks and even though I support Palin if she runs and Bachmann who is running...

Some Palin supporters are a bit unhinged...just plain nasty and unfortunately she has attracted the Rudy harpies who’ve crawled back...which makes no ideological sense

and some Palin bashers as well

I could support Perry as a last resort more than Romney as a last resort

so for me...either girl will do..I do not get the magic in Palin sticking it out but whatever she does for some here it is divine

I am more practical...either her or Bachmann screw up I will comment on it

I recall these same Palin folks suffered no disagreement with her from jump street

this forum in Palin laden at the mod level...no question of that

but JR says Palin, Bachmann or Cain...so there...I think Cain has slipped..bad.,..but he was funny at the debate

People are simply reaching for a candidate like Reagan. I think there are some good candidates in the pack but none are even close to Reagan. Cain probably has the most experience and good ideas but he isn’t a strong personality and it takes a hard noggin to become pres.

Sanctimonious self righteousness is the root cause. We must live with it for 7 or 8 more months. It will get worse and then the third party nonsense will begin
