I have been reading on dozens of threads how "toast" Obama is come 2012...how there is no way he will win re-election in 2012 now that we have been downgraded and the hell we are living through.

Well...have a look at the comments from some of the 23 million who are fans of this man...this is just from today:

Evajean Blum Blackstone Mr Obama, you have a lot on your plate, but you are a brilliant man and easily the smartest president we have ever had. I know you have something great up your sleeve and things are going to be ok. We support you 100% and we will never doubt you. We are proud to support Obama-Biden 2012!!! 13 minutes ago · 2 people

Tell us when will it end. Americans want to see some push back from the White House. Right now. 27 minutes ago

Marcie Richardson Anyone ever heard the old saying " you have to spend money to make money" ? Well, listen up Tea Party and supporters of the Tea Party- you don't create jobs by sitting on your laurel and hoarde your money- you use it!!! to put people to work to, create more revenue for our government to pay down the debt. Surely the majority of Americans are not so blind that they can't see this!!! 23 minutes ago · 1 person

Eddie Garcia This is a historical issue, republicans always make a mess of things and then the democrats have to come in and clean up the mess. Obama is a great leader and doing a very good job. I doubt another party could do better. The whole country must work together. about an hour ago · 3 people

Derrick Safan Haha.. I love it when u ppl argue. It just goes to show there'll never be a compromise..and that from here on end its down hill. But hey, It was a good run, better start learning chinese haha.. it just sucks you couldn't set differences aside and just give possibilities of how to fix the economy. Instead blabarring ur mouths. Blaming it on Bush or Obama wont solve anything. (Even though its REALLY BUSH who screwed u harddd). 59 minutes ago · 2 people

Micki Goldberg Give Congress a plan that includes building roads and fixing bridges.Something concrete, not payroll taxes or whatever. Something concrete. We need a NEW DEAL NOW. Ruby Zandra Waller Thank you, President Obama, for taking up our cause in the midst of all the opposition facing the success of our nation by the Tea Party, the chicken little news pundits, the Gop, the Koch Brothers, and all the other demonic spirits who would see our nation fail just to spite a brilliant President so he does not look good to his people. Don't worry Mr. President, we will see our Country through!

Darryl Davis Please stand up a show some backbone and sincere heart and address the corruption in congress, i.e Tea Party influence over the Republican party. Demand this type hostage games end now. The middle class is being destroyed along with the hard fought gains that Democrats and liberals won in the democracy so that everyone could share in this countries prosperity in gone. The debt was created under the republican controlled congress and white House. Maybe you have not noticed but, republicans are not willing to work with or compromise with you. Is it because your an African-American Yeah! It's time wake up Mr. President, you are not going win them over and your losing democratic support big time. A new stratgery and new way of dealing with opposition is at hand. Former President Bush was dead wrong on many things but, he was willing to stand up for his beliefs and party agenda in the face of criticism. Are you? Many of your supporter including needs to see a strong leader who has the courage to confront the opposition and will not the destruction of our society by a band criminals who refuses to function in the role they were elected but, rather hold the American people hostage as they demand the game be played their way or they will not play at all. President, Bill Clinton did not play their game nor did he allow them destroy country for the sake of politics. You can do the same. Happy Birthday, about an hour ago · 2 people

Shanon Batchelor Start being a liberal and fight for your campaign promises. You may get re-elected that way. about an hour ago

Jesus Espinoza Mr. President, America is furious over our credit downgrade and not sure who is to blame. You must speak to the country a.s.a.p. and remind everyone that the recent debt celing fight was partially responsible for our downgrade. Then, propose ligislation to make the debt ceiling a straight up or down vote in order to avoid possible default because of partisan gridlock. If republicans refuse, u can remind america that republicans want to hold america hostage and force us to accept the tea party's extreme views. At this point, it will be crystal clear who is to blame for our credit down grade-REPUBLICANS!!!! about an hour ago · 2 people

This article underscores the fact that people who are not competent enough, or not responsible enough to own property and to pay taxes on that property, should not be allowed to vote!

I, myself, am convinced Obama is a shoo-in in 2012. He has successfully completed the transition of this nation from capitalist to Socialist. More than half our population get some kind of assistance from the government and the number is growing each day. These people are scared if the lose Obama, they will lose their benefits. They will be out in droves to re-elect him in 2012.

23,000,000 Facebook fans is proof. He has alot of love out there that we don’t realize. And so far all the Republican candidates look weak. The House leadership is a joke. Sadly, at this point, I don’t see how Obama can lose.

I hope I am wrong, but I have a bad feeling about 2012. I think the Republicans blew it with the debt ceiling agreement and the Democrats will contol all heads of government in 2013 again.

...the adoration of the “first black president” has seized many people like a religion

Because many people, a sizable minority unfortunately, are emotionally invested in Obama. It's like a battered spouse. They have an emotional connection they can't let go of because they can't accept they were wrong in the first place. A majority of Americans still approve of Obama personally. His job approval is a bit under 50% now, but people still WANT to like him. That is a very hard bond to break. Hussein has been turned into a cultural icon - hip, cool, happening. He's something of a cult of personality and beating him in 2012 will likely be extraordinarily difficult.

You are a panic freak. You are basing your conclusion that Obummer is getting reelected by his face book page? That is ridiculous. How many of those people are Americans? How many of those people are voting age? How many of the 23 million number is from '08 and not interested in him anymore? The collapse of the economy is accelerating. His polls are in the toilet and he doesn't have any ideas except to tout fast tracking patents. I have no problem saying...

Obama Is Toast.

Obama is popular on the internet where everyone can be something they are not and nothing is real.

Just take a look at the popular vote threads here at FR. There is one poster who posts the same pro popular vote comments in literally hundreds of different places on the internet. Its called manufactured consent and its a progressive tactic going back to the days of Woodrow Wilson. It was originated by Edward Bernays.

Basically its a means of creating a perception of greater support for an idea than there really is by having people speak in favor of it in every possible forum. Think "Ellie Light".

Yellow Dog dems will never vote against the ticket.

An old rancher friend was a professed yellow dog but passed away just prior to the '08 election. He did not like Hussein one bit, but would vote the ticket.

If you could stomach reading a lot of these posts, the constant theme in them is a crying out for leadership.

this guy had the world by the short hairs when he came into office. If he had any backbone at all, he could have sailed into a second term easily.

The republicans need to put some one up for election who can show these poor souls some hope and direction. True change—with sound ideals and a real plan. But ewe will put up someone who landers as much.

We are so screwed.

I've been saying this for sometime. Obama will be a formidable opponent with $1 billion, big business, the unions and the MSM on his side.

I believe the Republicans must coalesce early behind a conservative candidate and go full bore until the election. However, it appears more and more that it is 2008 all over again with the establishments early backing of a weak, non-conservative candidate and the conservatives splitting their votes among a number of candidates and non-candidates. This is no time to be coy. If a conservative wants to run, they must get into the battle now. Otherwise it will be Romney vs. Obama and the American voters will again be the losers.

Personally, Michele Bachmann meets all of my criteria of a conservative candidate and she is campaigning without fear. If Palin gets in soon, I will also look at possibly supporting her. If she lets the other candidates campaign while she sits it out, I will not be inclined to support her.

Time is short. Obama is in full campaign mode. We must be too.

Being the only President in history to preside over a downgrade is the absolute kiss of death. There is no way to spin it in a debate.

If he blames the GOP in the House then the response is...'Wouldn't an effective leader have been able to work with them?"

What this will do, I think, is bring HRC back to the fore as a viable contender.
