we didn’t elect our president from the senate, either, until 2008.
not that I expect a parallel outcome should she be elected.
24 of the 44 presidents served in Congress (House, Senate or both) at one time or another.
17 presidents have been governors.
It has been quite a long time since anyone has been elected POTUS directly out of the House. But I’m open to it.
