...The Patriots announced that they had acquired Ochocinco for "undisclosed draft considerations," but sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that the Bengals will receive two draft picks, a 2012 fifth-rounder and a 2013 sixth-rounder, to complete the trade.
Ochocinco was scheduled to make $6.35 million for the Bengals this year. The Patriots wanted him to restructure his contract for salary-cap purposes, and he agreed to facilitate the trade.
After approximately 15 minutes of chatting Friday, Brady -- who proclaimed himself healthy after offseason foot surgery -- began to walk through some plays with the rest of his offense, while Ochocinco stood behind the quarterback and studied each one.

Tom Brady proclaimed himself healthy after offseason foot surgery.
Rumor has it that following his foot surgery recovery, Brady will be timed in the 40 yard dash with an actual stopwatch instead of the usual calendar.
Should be interesting to see how many people pick Ochocinco for their fantasy league teams.
9ers were hoping for a shot at OuchIstinko..
and as usual Frank Gore is holding out for an extension
Brady ain’t pretty when he runs but .. as long as he don’t break, the Pats look good.
you wouldn’t consider trading him for McNabb, huh?
Oh the travails of the Vikings continue.. :-)
The Pawtucket Patriots are becoming the new Oakland Raiders, picking up dubious players.
I don’t like Chad’s showboating, but he is still a very capable reciever. Brady will distribute the ball “evenly,” that is to whomever the game plan of that day and the circumstances dictate.
Chad will not repeat Randy Moss’ 23 TD season in 2007, but for fantasy leagurers I’d guess at least 8 TDs, 12 TDs if they have a very good season.
It will be interesting to check after the season and compare Chad with the Jets’ Santonio Moss and see who had a better year.
So glad to see this clown leave Cincinnati!
Now if only we can get rid of Mike Brown...
I hear you on the showboating.
But Brady and Belichik have a way of persuading players to tone down their antics.
Perhaps the dazzle from 3 Super Bowl rings has a way of reminding players that "It don't mean a thing, if you don't win that ring."
C'mon, it's Washington we're talking about here... where free agents and head coaches go to die.
I know the Pats have a way of working with troublesome players, but Haynesworth AND Chad Johnson? If either one blows up things could get warm in the NE locker room.
“The Pawtucket Patriots are becoming the new Oakland Raiders, picking up dubious players.”
Belichick’s shown he can bring a malcontent into line(Moss). If he can do that with Ochocinco and Hainsworth, he certainly will be the master.
Whenever there’s talk of using draft picks I picture Bill “making it rain” like Pacman in a strip joint they have so many of them.
As for the trade... I’m much keener on this than I am of the Haynesworth deal. I’m going to defer to history here given what they were able to do with Dillon and Moss. However that last year with Moss was a total mess but then we all saw what happened in that case. Boom! Gone in the blink of an eye. I suspect Albert will be on a pretty short leash.
With regards to Ochocinco - even though he can’t stretch the field as he once could, I suspect it’ll be enough to clear out the flats and let Welker, Edelman, Woodhead and the new stud TE’s wreak havoc underneath.
The one high-profile shoe left to drop is the Jets pursuit of Asomugha. Can’t imagine both he and Revis in the same secondary. That’d be a challenge and a half.
I doubt they’ll try to tame him much. As much as Chad likes to showboat he’s not one of those guys that celebrates every time he looks at the ball. He tends to only celebrate big catches and TDs, and then only if the team is winning, if the team is still losing after his catch he’s all business. Which is why he’s probably the only showboater I like, and he is pretty clever.
It don’t mean a ting, if you ain’t got the bling.
I agree if any one can do it, he can, but it seems over the past few he’s become hesitant to invest in young players and instead relying on the elderly to carry the team through. Of course I say this without any digging around to see if I am right about this. I’ve taken the easy, liberal-minded route and relied upon my “ feelings”.
The Pats pretty regularly have more 1st day draft picks than anybody else. They get plenty of young talent for the meat of the team and pick up “questionable” vets to fill holes.
I hope Belichick makes him wear #82
I agree with you mostly, but (ugghh) the Patriots just released Ty Warren today because he could not pass his conditioning drill.
That means, according to the B Globe, the Patriots have only four Super Bowl winners on their team: Brady, Deion Branch, Dan Koppen and Wilfork. I’ve seen hopeful signs that they’ll re-sign Matt Light, that would make five, but no new news on that yet.
I am fairly satisfied w/ how BB is reconstructing the team w/ a lot of depth, but the last Super Bowl win was a long time ago (nevermind a playoff win).
Some might say that giving up the 5th and 6th rounders for a short term veteran punch is a cheap price for the Patriots, but w/ Warren and etc. gone it looks like the Patriots will be depending on a number of 5th and 6th rounders.
In Bill I trust.
Cool, thanks for the ping.
