How will you access GBTV?

I'm researching how I will access GBTV and was wondering about how Freepers will do it. I have a laptop next to my TV to watch movies and listen to music and radio, but was looking at ROKU. I don't think I'm ready to cut my satellite, but am interested in what others are doing. The simple thing would be to just use the laptop, but a remote control is appealing and I'm going to lose the option of recording with my DVR. I would like to record it and watch it at my leisure with the ability to stop it and start it.

I’m going to try the cheaper subscription to start with once he gets things up and running. I’ll probably just watch here on the puter.

We dumped satellite about 3 years ago (best decision we ever made) We live on Netflix by mail now as our ISP doesn't offer the speed required to download video. I never thought we'd consider signing back up for satellite but a channel devoted to the Packers is tempting...:{)

If he has a TV/Blueray app I’ll watch it. He has to make sure watching his GBTV is as convenient as possible like Hulu, like Netflix, like Cinemanow, like Vudu etc. It isn’t like there isn’t many many examples of how to do it right otherwise it will probably fail. I don’t want it to fail because I think it is a great idea but unless he wants a very narrow audience he needs to make sure GBTV is accessible on as many platforms as possible from Smartphones to TVs.

Yeah man...Ditched sat ourselves few months back and do the netflix thing as well.

I'm not real happy about them splitting out their plans now; so I just might be media free altogether. Since being without sat/cable for a while now, "TV" and the stations people fork out a good chunk of change for truly seems worthless at this point.

I won’t. I couldn’t agree more. We were spending a not insignificant amount to pipe mostly leftist propaganda into our home. Your blood pressure changes to provide a level of happiness that you had forgotten existed. Your spouse doesn’t yell at you to turn it down...after the start of every commercial that broadcasts at three times normal loudness to get your attention. When the tube is off (and not tempting) much more gets done, life becomes placid again. (that last may only occur in country folk...city folk think quite differently as a rule. In my early family there were two city folks and two country folks)
