Like the president, Obama Sr. was also a brilliant, ambitious idealist who overcame the limited circumstances of his background to attend the best schools in the world, then set out to participate in a moment of vast political promise. That he failed so spectacularly, and that his son succeeded, says a lot about the qualities of character that can distinguish a leader from a lout. They only thing Zero is succeeding at is dismantling America and turning it into a Third World country.

The only thing I'll say in defense of our POTUS is he doesn't seem to share his dad's philandering drunkenness and seems to be a devoted father.
Reagan's dad was no prize either, but he overcame a crummy childhood and became the greatest President of the 20th century. But Reagan LOVED this country and wanted it to succeed no matter what.

Wow, we now know more about Obama’s father than we know about Obama himself.
I find this comment by John at the article source interesting:
“I love this, but two questions come to mind:
1) isn’t it amazing that the Left worships “Dreams From My Father”, yet this is the first time - in over 3 years - that we’ve even learned a little about who his father was, never mind what his dreams were.
2) This sentence: “Unlike his father, the president is a committed family man who rarely drinks, who never loses his cool, who values pragmatism over idealism, who prefers consensus to conflict, and who has mastered the art of working within the system.”
Wow, that contradicts almost every bit of actual evidence we have. Especially the drunken part. Not only can you read Dreams From My Father and he talks quite a bit about drug and alcohol usage... apparently, there’s been some issues with the Wednesday Night After Work Cocktail Parties. In at least two occasions, Da Prez has gotten so incredibly drunk and violent, he’s actually had to be removed from by the Secret Service. Wow, that must’ve been awkward. Just wait until the books come out - after 2012, that is.”

Leave it to a leftist MSM writer, like Andrew Romano of
Newsweek, to take a book review of a scathing biography of Obama Sr. and turn it into an effusive tribute to his (purported) son! This piece a a big-time barfie.
Contrary to Romano's meme, the two Obamas were quite similar ideologically: both detested western civilization and values.
