I have a Savage 99C .243 which has a trigger pull of 8+ pounds. Love the rifle... hate the trigger! I have taken it to a couple of topnotch gunsmiths and they don’t want to touch it.

Newer Savage bolt rifles come with an adjustable trigger I believe factory set @ 7 lbs. I agree 8 pounds is a little heavy. My Rem 700 SF Varmint in .22-250 is set @ 4 lbs. and was factory set near @ 5 lbs. My Ruger M77 made in 1982 is rough and near @7 pounds, but I wont mess with the trigger. It is crisp though and shoots minute of angle or better with a cheaper Bushnell elite 3X9 mounted on it. My M1 Garand has a heavy pull but will shoot one inch groups at 100 yards offhand. Most of my Moisan Nagants are monsters and fun to shoot but 3” groups on a good day.
