Regarding some guy who wrote a letter to apologize for rioting and burning cars. Hope I can post this here. Worthy read:

We limped into the playoffs, got in because Minnesota beat Dallas. Took Vancouver to game 7 when we were predicted to get swept. Your wonderful Cancucks sent Brent Seabrook to the hospital, no penalty of course. But when Dave Bolland so much as breathed on a Sedin it was an insta-penalty.
We have some class as Chicago Sportsfans. Our politicians may be rats from hell but we don't burn down a city when we lose! You are a coward and are defending thugs who are like the vandals that burned down Rome.
I'm pinging Impy because I can take you to school on Hockey. I thank God that an Original 6 team won. Your Canucks and your hooligans who enjoy burning down a nice looking city will never see the Cup. Here's to Chicago, Detroit, Boston, Toronto, New York, and Montreal.

I remember the last time I was in BC. I was sitting in a bar in downtown Vancouver, wearing my Stars jersey, and a couple of Canuck fans bought me a beer, because I “had a good Canadian boy’s name on my shirt.” At first I thought I might get beat up, but they love Guy Carbonneau up there, even though he is from Quebec.

I don’t know if I can completely agree with ya there. Dallas has some gnarly areas, especially downtown. I walked around Vancouver some, it is rough once you get off the main drag.
But I appreciate your positive remarks about Dallas hockey fans. Back in the day when I was heavy into the Stars it always got to me how clueless many of them were. Until halfway through the second period a lot of seats were empty, people would start drifting in, but most don’t know much about hockey. This is a football town.

A Letter of Appoligy to Vancouver and Family and Friends Hey Everyone ! The status is : I Turned myself in to the VPD today at 12pm I am now being charged on 4 counts. I am Truly Sorry for what i have done !!! I have no excuse for my actions during the Riot. To my Friends, Family, Coworkers, and of course all of Vancouver and BC i am SORRY for what i have done. I would like to say on my behalf that I LOVE VANCOUVER ! I’ve been Born n Raised here all my life !! and that This Town means everything to me !!! again i understand that my actions caused did not show any of that ! But i hope you one day see that i do care about this town and my friends n family and this is NOT like me !! I am ashamed at what i have done, I know i may never gain the respect of this town again. But I PROMISE that i will do whatever i can to make this up !! I am a big believer in Cleaning up your mess !! I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES to make things right ! I hope this will insite some of the other rioters to do the right thing and turn themselves in !!!! For all its hype as an attractive city in a beautiful location, Vancouver is an absolute sh!thole once you start turning over a few rocks and scraping off that thin veneer.
As soon as I read this line, I knew the guy who wrote it was an Asian from a family of immigrants. It's amazing how some of those cultures carry this idea of "public shame" for a person, and how they see a person's actions based on how it reflects on his/her family and friends.
Burrows and Lapierre played like absolute thugs. And you want to talk about penalties? You guys literally knocked Brent Seabrook into the hospital and you didn't get called for it!!!
You can trash us all you want but if you guys are the best, then why did the Hawks take you to 7 when "our team was destroyed."
In case you haven't realized it you are going to have major cap issues and your Canucks of 2011-12 will look a lot different than the Canucks of 2010-11. You'll still have the twins and your headcase goalie who is signed through 2023. When you have a very talented goalie who truly is the reason we didn't knock you out in round 1.
The Hawks weren't dismantled we had to dump salary, that's how it works in the NHL otherwise it would be like baseball and you'd have the same teams in the chase every year.
The best player we lost was Byfulien. And calling him a star is a stretch. He was good to rough people up. The others Bolland, Madden, Ladd, Versteeg and the others are no Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa and our defensive duo of Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook. We also have talented young players we picked up in our various trades such as Viktor Stalberg, Ben Smith, Jeremy Morin, Nick Leddy. So if you think that we are going to be a horrible team next year you're in for a surprise.
How bad was it to see Tim Thomas win the Conn Smythe instead of your nutcase goalie And you're stuck with him till 2023!!! Unless you find someone dumb enough to take his bloated salary.
