Have to quibble about the Jeep Cherokee, the 2.8l versions are simply junk, would not own another one.
Have to agree with the Volvo and Subaru’s, boring cars but they just run forever, Volvo was the first to add a 7 digit odometer iirc.

True, but that's why they specify models starting in 1987 - which is when the 4.0L straight-six was introduced. My family had an 84 and 86 and they both sucked.
I have a 1996 Cherokee Sport, bought new. Still stock. With a little over 120k on the odometer (first year it got 24k, last five or six well under 5k due to changes in my commute)
It makes weird noises and leaks stuff (in small quantities - I worry when it STOPS leaking), but the only major unexpected repairs I've had to do on it are a new water pump (65k miles) and exhaust system (74k miles)
I LOVE the thing. I'm going to bawl like a baby if/when I have to get rid of it.

I loved my 240. Roomy, reliable, nondescript. Until I got rear-ended while stopped at a red light. Totalled. Sometimes I wish I had gotten it repaired.

You couldn’t prove it by me. My dad drove a Volvo company car back in the 1960’s — it was constant trouble. Dad called it his “health car”. I asked why. Because he got exercise pushing it, or at the very least, got fresh air from rolled-down windows because the A/C never worked.
