Just finisjed watching HBO's Too Big To Fail.

Its movie about the 2008 financial crisis and I have a question for those who've seen it and who has a better working knowledge of the events that led up to the 2008 crisis.

How accurate are the facts portrayed in this HBO film?

Knowing HBO's left leaning views and they clearly tried to make the repubs out to be villainous but all that aside, how did they do factually?

Reason I ask is, if they did their homework and presented the business facts and events that led up to the 2008 crash correctly then I don't care who is responsible.

We need to find us alot of rope and some tall trees and get to work!

Earlier this year I did a job at a nice lot. 100’ of prime lakeshore with a million dollar (1970’s) house. The house was getting dozed, and a $3 to $4 million house going up.

The guy bought the property has a $700/month mortgage on it. And interest free loan for the new home. He just joined AIG and they pulled the strings with the various financial loans.

If it was anybody else I would say good for them. But when it is MY tax dollars......

The community reinvestment Act (CRA) was passed a long time ago but it wasn’t really enforced until the 90’s. When Dems won Congress in 2006 during Bush they dusted it off and really started applying it.

I have a theory that I wish Republicans understood:

No matter what your idea, how efficient or effective you may think it is, how reasonable you have tried to make it; at some point, some democrat is going to get a hold of it and make it unrecognizable.

Red Asner was asked one time (fairly recently) if there was anyone he’d like to portray he hasn’t played yet.

He said Joseph Stalin. He says he knows that Stalin killed 20million people, etc. but WHAT ELSE did he do (you know the GOOD things that happened under Soviet Communism).

Liberals will lay out facts in their presentation of history but airbrush out other facts that change the whole conclusion.

Discover what facts have been air brushed from their presentation and you will find the real meat of went down.

Good review here of the Democrat hit piece blaming Republicans for the financial disasters.

The meltdown was huge but from what I understand, it boils down to two main things:

1- The CRA, Frak and Dodd are the proximate causes of the meltdown.
2 - The banks securitizing mortgages meant that they were all exposed as soon as housing prices started to drop.

The movie portrayed part 2 very well. It left out part 1 all together - likely because that would paint liberal democrats in a bad light.

HBO pushes another toxic movie...

What a shameful and pathetic rendition of history. Not only did HBO omit vital aspects of the “fail”, it injected gratuitous disdain for the Republicans while taking a few on the knees for the Democrats.

Up yours, HBO.
