What is a “Laker” anyway?

absolutely a blast to watch.
Guess from what is happening there the Lakers are not real good LOSERS.

The franchise moved from Minneapolis, where “Lakers” made sense ... (around 1960) ... kind of like the Utah Jazz, when they played in New Orleans.

What a quandry that puts folks on the right in?
Phil Jackson is one of the "good" guys even though he keeps his politics to himself most of the time. He does let it slip sometimes such as the case of the Arizona immigration bill.
Then there is Mark Cuban striving to be accepted among his leftist elite cohorts.

TWENTY 3 Pointers from the Dallas Mavericks !! 63% all in all!!
9 from Jason Terry and 6 from Peja Stojakovic. Plus the Lakers were so desperate they committed flagrant fouls that caused the refs to throw two players out !! the Lakers were so devastated that Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum resorted to throwing cheap shots. They were ejected 45 seconds apart, with Jackson sitting on the bench looking as if he’d already checked out.
This is a one of a kind game for the Mavs. I don’t think they’ll ever repeat this.
A most embarassing loss for the two time champs. Wish Phil Jackson would have gone out in style...

Eventually even the champions must lose sometime. I’m a Mavs fan but give it up to the Lakers for winning so many NBA titles. Phil Jackson winning coach of 11 NBA titles = not too shabby either. He can go out retired and satisfied.

Don't kid yourself. Politically, Jackson is a Leftist, although he generally keeps quiet, as he should in his position. However, as a former amateur basketball coach, I can tell you his antics towards officials (the latest yesterday) set a very poor example for kids. Jackson has never been very good at accepting responsibility for defeats and has never been a gracious loser.
Truly great coaches realize that losing is part of the game. They may not like it, but it must be accepted.

The NBA must have decided it wanted a different winner this year. I think his surname is James.
