“breaking the law”

No he wasn’t “breaking the law”. Adding a line to the bottom of their article does not make them immune to fair use laws.

I’m sure a paragraph or two with a link is always fair use.

Tell that to groups like RightHaven. While you technically may be in the right, they will tie you up in courts so much, you will have lawyers fees or a settlement equal to if fair use didn't exist.
