Actually, the NASB and the ESV are in quite easy-to-read format and are both a much more literal translation than even good ole KJV.
I will disagree that TM has anything spirit breathed in it at all. If you want “spirit breathed insights”, choose a good devotional. Leave the Bible alone.
TM is heretical in that it changes (softens) the very essence of God. In such, it is heretical and should be discarded.
Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Bible Gateway is a good site which I use from time to time, but most of my study is done via
this link. It's got a very high amount of information available and offers a wide array of commentaries to compare and contrast topics. It also has a built in lexicon for deeper research.

You're basically right, but I'd like to point out a few things that you might not be aware of yet. First of all, as others have said, the Nephilim were actually the hybrid offspring results of matings between fallen angels and human women. Furthermore, they were just one of several different groups of these creatures, which continued to live and be a problem even beyond the Flood. The most famous of their descendants included the giants inhabiting Canaan when the 12 spies were sent to spy out the land after the Exodus, thus explaining the command from God to wipe out every living person in Canaan. Because the Israelites failed to do this, David got his chance at fame when he killed Goliath and his five brothers, who were descendants of the Nephilim.
Also, as others have stated, the Nephilim don't seem to have ever left but seem to have changed tactics somewhat. The current issues with UFOs and what we know as "grays" are showing some serious signs as not so much being contact with "aliens" from outer space but the return of the Nephilim. If you'd like to know more about this, try this link. Chuck Missler has done quite a bit of research on this topic and seems to be pointed in the right direction.

Interesting.
I found that THE MESSAGE, for me,
INTENSIFIED GOD’S MAJESTY;
THE FEAR OF GOD;
YET THE LOVE OF GOD.
I think committees of translators often end up mangling and softening the punch of God’s Word.

THX THX.
PRAISE GOD.
Of course, it was HIS insight, a gift to me.
I agree. It covers a LOT of territory.
He can be exacting but He’s NOT petty.
