It’s safe to say that the Kelo ruling has exposed the courts. Do you really think that people will put up with the judiciary much longer? The only thing quieting people down is the current makeup of the ‘supreme’ Court which is just barely tolerable.
Boortz agrees regarding Kelo — he practically called for armed inssurrection over that.
Now for polling ...
Actually, it's safe to say the overwhelming majority of Americans have no idea what Kelo is. Most people would think it refers to a certain amount of cocaine or heroin, because they've heard the word on tv cop shows.
People have put up with the SCOTUS for a couple hundred years and counting. I don't expect that to change. And the only time anyone cares about eminent domain is when they're personally getting the short end.
And by the way, it's by design:
The judicial power will operate to effect, in the most certain, but yet silent and imperceptible manner, what is evidently the tendency of the constitution: I mean, an entire subversion of the legislative, executive and judicial powers of the individual states. Every adjudication of the supreme court, on any question that may arise upon the nature and extent of the general government, will affect the limits of the state jurisdiction. In proportion as the former enlarge the exercise of their powers, will that of the latter be restricted.Brutus, The New-York Journal, January 31, 1788
