My husband and I rented Expelled and found it amusing when Ben Stein was interviewing Richard Dawkins and Stein kept asking him questions about “When you meet God...” and Dawkins kept saying “No, no, no!”; and then Stein goes on to say ok, if no God, tell me how did life begin? And at one point Dawkins says “Crystals”. I said the man can't believe in God, but he can believe in Crystals? To this day when we hear someone say something really stupid or out there, my husband will just look at me and say “Crystals”! Nothing more needs to be said, our secret code!

Oh, as to this article— if science can't question anything and everything, including evolution, is it truly science?

This is an old problem. The formation of the Royal Society was basically an attempt to allow like minded savants to exchange views without being harassed by the cacophony of philosophical anarchists, such as for example Hobbes.

This is all recounted in the Pomo mainstay, Leviathan and the Air pump, which concludes succinctly, "Hobbes was right".

OK fine. Just butt out.
