We have the 3G 64 GB iPads and a new Galaxy Tab. Looked at the Xoom today, and held it side by side with the Tab. Tab wins!
Xoom runs Android 3.0, but is loaded with bugs. Tab runs Android 2.2 and is solid.
Tab is smaller, and fits in a large jacket pocket. No way can you get a Xoom or an iPad into your pocket.
Tab is used for texting and email as well as surfing. iPad can’t text, nor can it run most videos that show up. Tab runs them all.
Tab also has front and rear cameras.
Got the Tab mainly for texting, after our Grandchildren convinced us of the utility of texting. Wife loves it. Will need to get a second Tab though.
I have Android 2.2 on my Dell Streak 5. It is rock solid and I’m NOT locked into a proprietary application like iTunes. The Streak 5 is perfect for travel, movies and light internet use.
I think 7” is a sweet spot for handheld tablets. We have an iPad as well and it is a 2 handed operation. I may get the Streak 7 this summer.
