Dugway Proving Ground, in Utah’s western desert, was placed on lockdown Wednesday evening.
Al Vogel, a public affairs specialist for the installation, would only say that the lockdown began at 5:24 p.m. Employees were not allowed to leave, and those coming to work were not allowed in. Vogel said there were no injuries, no damage and no threats reported at the proving ground. There were about 1,200 to 1,400 people at Dugway when the lockdown occurred.
Dugway Proving Ground is a U.S. Army testing and training base in Tooele County where military weapons are tested.
It happened yesterday afternoon, the lockdown was lifted just after 4 this morning.

There was an earlier thread on this. All the lame zombie jokes have been made already.
Just was reading thru comments also....earlier ones state that local news reported a pregnant woman was airlifted, and base commander called situation “serious”.
But this morning, they are saying no injuries, everyone OK.
Weird.

When I was a kid my family got caught up in a lockdown of Wright Patterson AFB while we were visiting a family friend.
We never did find out what was going on.
Happens more often than people know.
They usually only find out when they try to pass through the gate.
Missing weapon.
Misplaced cryptographic device or keys.
What they did at Wright Patterson was called our friend and told him to keep us at his house till the all clear was given a couple hours later.
Guess that’s why they made visitors sign in and out back then.
