The play where the fer screened the cover man that allowed the ducks to get a 1st down was the worst imo....

I agree. Too many teams are using the umpire as a screen. Gives too much advantage to the offense. Years ago I officiated HS football. Mechanics called for the umpire to move up into the line of scrimmage on a pass play to watch for holding and linemen down field. I don't know why college mechanics want the umpire to stay down field. IMHO, college mechanics should be changed on this issue.
