that day and [that] hour
Yet Christ exhorted that folks who could tell the weather by the signs should be able to tell the season. Perhaps the year?
Regardless, the birth pangs leading up to such events will be dramatic enough.
“Christ exhorted that folks who could tell the weather by the signs should be able to tell the season. Perhaps the year?”
Scripture citation? Was he talking about the end times, thus contradicting himself in Mark?
Gee, I dunno. If I read something that plainly says:
“No one but the One will know” then I take it to mean that only that One will know.
`Like a thief in the night’. If the faithful are all lined up in their nightgowns waiting at the door, suitcases in hand, it kind of takes the wind out of the scriptures sails, doesn’t it?
It’s something like Matthew 23:9 `And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.’
I know Catholics would disagree, but IMHO you start viewing the Bible as a “living, breathing” thing like lefties view the Constitution, and the next thing you know you’ve got lesbian women preachers, `Green Day’ on the hymn list, cats marrying dogs, and so forth and so on: anarchy,
or,
`It means what I say it means,’ again, a la the Democrats.
Keep in mind, as well, the closing verses of Revelations (John’s acid trip) about adding and taking away from the scriptures.
