Crew *trying* to clear streets of snow.
NYer language?
No worse than anyplace else.
Those are some major dumbasses. He could have lifted the front end with the bucket and swung it over.
How on earth could you get an articulated hoe stuck in the snow in the first place? And if it was disabled why didn’t they push it to the curb? My wife couldn’t have done that much damage blindfolded.
Didn’t happen *anywhere else*.
A couple of Maroons
You would think after the first bump, they would stop and reevaluate what the were doing.. but no.. they are New York City union employees.
Not even close to being enough to justify firing a unionized civil servant, just doing their job.
I got’chur anyplace else..RIGHT HERE~!
You're right. I've seen guys maneuver excavators and front-end loaders into and out of some pretty tight spots by putting the blade down and raising the wheels/tracks. No excuse for being stuck and needing a tow truck in the first place.
I've seen this done in person.

Maybe they should have tried this, get all the weight on one set of drive wheels for traction?

Back in February when we got 34 inches(as opposed to the 14 we got in this storm), it took a Komatsu 600 loader to clear the road. It's about a 25 degree grade past my house and he simply couldn't get up it. He'd get about half way up and the tires just spun...when he hit the brakes he slid sideways into the Swale at the side of the road. He got stuck in about 6 feet of drifted snow...and used the bucket to lift the wheels over then articulate back onto the street. The idiots in this video clearly don't know how to use an articulated loader.
We ended up using a snow blower to clear the hill...maybe if the loader had chains but nothing with rubber wheels pushing that much snow could touch it. It's a dead end so you can't come the other way.
Can’t wait till they take over the hospitals.
