Yeah I know——Imam Clemenza has had some kind of chip on his shoulder vis a vis Greeks or Balkan Christians for a long time ....how else to explain his abject ignorance?

Did you see this yet? The Euros are gradually getting it...

Next he will preach about the Muslim tolerance during the Golden Years in Spain!

Some European nations are getting it but I am afraid it's too late. Islam has settled there already and they overcome the welfare system, they multiplied like rabbits and the only way to remedy that is by waging a war which they are neither prepared nor eager to have.

FWIW Turkish airlines have consistently been the unsafest airline known to mankind. [If you've ever flown them, you'd understand].Metaphorically speaking, the marriage fits Kobe's career choices perfectly.

And being born in a nation just across from Turkey,

What nation is that? Why aren't you upfront about identifying where you are from, and hence, your bias?

Mandatory reading also for everyone from the mean, bad, west: anything by Oriana Fallaci.

I am a fan of the late Oriana Fallaci and have been familiar with her for quite some time. I find your reference to the "mean, bad west" to be interesting....

You give Kobe too much credit. I doubt he knows a thing about the Armenian Genocide.

Perhaps he’ll learn soon.

Wait a minute. You’re a poser, Allthegoodusernamesaregone. On this thread, you say you were “born in a nation just across from Turkey,” and in your posting history you say your “hometown” is in Wales. There are many, many countries in between those two, they are not “just across” from one another. Hometown is one’s place of origin. So, you’re just some drunk sitting around in a Welsh pub, with an axe to grind.

POSER!!

My bias? Cupcake, I am not the one who spews out nonsense and calls the one not agreeing with your views biased.

Please, don't pull an Alinsky tactic, doing a spin. Let me remind you that you were the one applauding Turkey for not having an entitlement program (which you are incorrect, they have a healthy Welfare system which is running broke as well) compared to the nations to the west. Hence it was you implying the merits of the Turkish society over the West's. Seriously, go share your revised history to Berkeley. It fits better with their agenda.

And if Fallaci was indeed one of your favorite writers, you would have demonstrated at least better history knowledge and truth than what your have spewed so far!

Revisionists bore me, hence you do to! Especially the ones aiming low, hoping that the other side is riding Shetlands !

There are many genocides to learn about, don’t you think?

However, please explain to us how Turkish Airlines is responsible for genocide of Armenians. Apparently, you want to make the airlines and now Kobe responsible for a holocaust.

Do you understand where we could go with this?

Lufthansa and China Airlines also fly out of LAX and many international airports. Let’s say a celebrity signs on for an endorsement to travel by one of these carriers. Is this then an endorsement of the extermination of millions of Jews in Germany during WWII? An endorsement of China’s invasion and decimation of Tibet, of their own people in Tian-man Square?

How about U.S. based airlines being to blame for the U.S. dropping the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

I guess it depends on who makes the protest and who points the finger. Apparently, the Armenians experienced the most important and morally superior holocaust of the past century.

What I see here is selective moralism.

Honey bunch, one can be born in one place and have a hometown somewhere else :) Hometown is the town (or city) where you grew up. My place of birth and home town are not the same!

Maybe you should ask Santa for a dictionary!!

Clearly, you have no other argument so you lower yourself on personal attacks! It fits you!

Merry Christmas!

Enchiladita, darling, you really love spinning things to fit your argument. Too bad history keeps proving you wrong!

Eleni121, I am stopping right here trying to debate facts and history with the spinners and sore losers like Enchiladita. I've been accused of being a "poser" and a "drunk" already simply because the dude just doesn't like what I have to say and lacks the arguments to back up his statements. I haven't decided if that's pathetic or disgusting or both but still, not worth it!

Cheers, darling!

Listen up, noobie. If all you can do is make up childish insults as a substitute for being honest about where you are from, you have no credibility as a debater on this forum. We have been having discussions re Turkey, esp. contemporary Turkey, on this forum long before you showed up. But then, you would have to learn the keyword feature and do more reading than talking.

There's plenty to go around. Turkish Airlines isn't responsible, nor is Kobe. He just stepped in one of those minefields of historical greivance that's out there.

Social Engineering in the 20th century, the gift that keeps on giving.

Poser, drunk and now a noobie! And you whine about childish insults! Short memory or selective? You are the one insulting others!!!

Talking and reading in a book about a part of the world does not make you an expert. Maybe others, definitely not you! So stop playing the victim here when you are in fact the bully in chief.

Tenure does not give one any rights unless he belongs in an union! Last time I looked, JR was a conservative and FR was not unionized! One's reputation is based on facts and posts and not membership! And while you have been discussing Turkey (contemporary or otherwise) others have actually traveled there, lived there, dealt with the people. It's called real life experience!

Regardless ... merry Christmas!
