The championship and the Rose Bowl are the only ones that are really intriguing. OU v. UConn in the Fiesta Bowl? Pass.
Looks like the good ol’ boys still call the shots... No Boise State?
A rare year where neither USC nor UCLA make a post-season appearance.
And given their play this year, rightly so.
It appears that ESPN/ABC has pretty much monopolized televising the bowl games.
One of the big issues when you get away from the main bowls is selling enough tickets to not lose a fortune on putting on the game. That’s how Navy gets bowl bids. They can sell tickets.
I want Oregon to cram Cam Newton’s early pro payday start...somewhere...haven’t figured out where yet
Man, Boise State misses ONE EASY FIELD GOAL, and suddenly they aren’t good for ANY major bowl in the country?
But a team they beat gets to play in a big-name bowl.
I used to pay attention to this nonsense. Wake me when they have a playoff.
If you are not playing for the National Championship, it does not really matter. I know that the schools and conferences get big bucks from some of the bowls, and the best thing for teams that participate in them is that they get more practice time. This should help for next year, but for the schools that set their aim on playing for the national championship, these other bowls are a disappointment. Go Ducks!!!
What a joke...of a match-up!!
What’s with all of these minor bowls after Jan 1? The next few weeks before Christmas should be for the crapper bowls.
The SEC - Big 10 matchups look like they might be pretty good. Stanford -WVU and Okla - UConn aren’t going to turn on many TV sets. Georgia - UCF? And I expect they’ll be giving away tickets for the Armed Forces Bowl. Of course, Ford Stadium seats about as many folks as a good high school facility in Texas. (Seats about 32,000).
UConn playing against OU in a BCS Bowl? UConn is not even ranked in the BCS ranking, but ranked 25 in AP Top 25.
I’m rooting for Auburn. The more games they win, the more they will have to forfeit.
The old Pac-10 vs. Big 10...not that it would matter anyway since upon landing at LAX, the Big 10 teams turn into a bunch of bumpkins, seeing the Big City for the first time and proceed to get their clocks cleaned.
Ping.
A round of golf on New Year’s Day suddenly has very strong appeal.
So happy to have UConn football go to the Festa Bowl!
Do not underestemate what Connecticut can do to Oklahoma. Just ask the USF Bulls.
