Didn’t even have to pay up front to have gotten the dog free; could have just signed a citation to appear in court later, and they would have released the dog to him. Now, they’re both screwed.
Neither of them sound like they would be a good neighbor.
And, while working in an ER, I saw first hand the damage that an enraged “sweet little poodle” did to someone...someone who deserved it, in that case.
I also got to laugh like heck when our (long ago) landlord’s chihuahua taught her four pups how to take care of an armed robber one fine rent day. Guy, as well as dropping his weapon, really learned some fancy new dance steps, giving our L.L. time to pull his own .38 out of his (Yes, really!) ANKLE HOLSTER. Real joke was, NO CASH; it was all checks. That guy’s ankles and calves were shredded by the the time the dogs were called off; he was happy to sit & wait for the cops.
