Yes.
All the whining about Boise State surprises me. If the heavyweights at schools like Ohio State, Texas, Florida, etc. weren’t refusing to schedule Boise State, maybe those who make the “Boise State’s schedule is so weak” argument might sound a little less like a bunch of whiny girls. Obviously, if Ohio State thought they could beat Boise so easily, they’d schedule them. Everyone knows Boise State has offered to play anyone, anywhere. Go Broncos! I hope they blow the lid off the BCS good old boys’ club.
Boise would be 2nd in the Big 10, but I’d like to see them play some good teams instead of the palookas on their schedule.
After seeing that news why do I suddenly have the urge to go out and eat some cupcakes?
if they played the entire B10 schedule I don’t think they would be 2nd.
Even if it’s required that BCS schools play BS - that still doesn’t make a season.
let them join a conference - someone should have to take them.
That is what the big conference cry babies say all the time. What does Boise St do about it? Just win. Look at their bowl game record.
The real reason the BCF conferences dont want a true tournament is they can lock out the Boise St’s and TCU’s of the world, keep all the money and prestige for themselves. But, if, by some miracle because the big boys will do everything they can do to lock them out, Boise St does win the mythical national championship the outcry for a tourney (from the big school that gets locked out) may get to be too much and we may get a real national championship.
I will take Boise St and the points in the mythical national championship.
OSU, Nebraska, Texas, et al would gladly schedule Boise State, except Boise insists on a “home and away” two-fer. Sorry, big schools aren’t going to fly their team out to play on smurf field in front of 143 people. Not going to happen.
Boise would own the little ten this year.
I think TCU has been more impressive than Boise State.
I also think Nebraska, should they go unbeaten, should be in the BCS title game. You don’t go into Manhattan and put a licking on Kansas State like that, unless you’re damn good.
Why should Ohio State play the big time teams every week, when these little schools play high school schedules and then claim they should have the title? What a farce.
I don’t know if Boise State beats Nevada.
Yup, all the time. And they always schedule division 2 cupcakes in the beginning and refuse to schedule teams like Boise St. And when they do, they will not travel to be a visitor in no uncertain terms.
Mountain Dad, put down that Mountain Dew. It’s affecting your thought processes. Go Bucks!!!!
The schedules are made three, four and sometimes five years in advance.
Unless, and until, Boise can get routinely onto the schedule of top twenty teams, they are S.O.L. As for this season, they have to sit and eat their cupcake schedule and hope against hope that Virginia Tech and Oregon State do not lose any more games (both have two losses already).
Boise State will fade from the top based on their schedule. They’ll have to content themselves with another BCS game, but no ticket to THE game.
