>>> I could listen to radio at work...

Is there a decent WiFi signal you could use? An iPod Touch with the iHeart Radio app is better than a radio. No static at all...

Not in the type of job I have, sorting mail.

In Boston there is one sports station on AM 850 (Red Sox,
Celtics) and one on FM 98.5 (Patriots, Bruins). It used to
be that getting Red Sox was very easy when they were on AM
680 (near where I work). Then they shifted to 850—I needed
something to beam the signal from a boom box to my sorting case. Then new lights came in—and everything went kerflooey.
Even the FM 98.5 with Patriots (such as tomorrow night’s
game) is tough to get.

I even tried an HD portable (on sale for $40 at Best Buy).
If I tuned to FM 93.7, I could get the AM 850 on a sub channel. Problem was, on workroom floor that was good for 2 seconds then I lost signal. And then with new lights...
forget it.

Yeah, in the breakroom I have better luck (radio).

We do have a TV in breakroom and in the past when Red Sox were in playoffs they could try to tune it to Fox, etc. but they
didn’t get channels like TBS.

Now they have that one TV set to one channel.

CNN Headline News.

That’s right, BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!! from Nancy Grace.

sigh

Don’t have an iPod touch; maybe it would work but who knows.

In some cases I can dash into a bathroom for a few minutes and catch the game but I do need to be back on the workroom
floor...thus the “record it and hear back later”. On an
AM-FM-Cass. mini boombox ($20, Rite Aid). Not live though.

I believe Internet streams (iheartradio is definitely an Internet stream) of MLB games are blocked. You have to have an MLB audio account to access MLB games on the web. It’s also a flash player when on the web, so unless they have an iPhone app, it wouldn’t play on an iPhones browser.
