FReeper Airgunners? (Vanity)
Today | Meself

Posted on 09/17/2010 8:59:42 PM PDT by Celtic Cross

I know that vanities are frowned upon, so I shall make this brief. Is there an airgun ping list? If so, who is the keeper, and if not, can one be started?

In addition, perhaps some airgunning FReepers could chime in on the sport.

Airguns don’t go bang.

Maybe it should be called the nobang list

Been having an old Benjamin pump air rifle (.22cal 800 ft/sec) and pump air pistol (.22cal 500 ft/sec) for 30 years. Great for cheap target practice in the backyard.
Keeps you sharp and makes sure you aren't picking up any bad habits.

I was an airgunner a long time ago, but I never thought of it as fun or a hobby. Okay, maybe once in a while firing a fifty from a 46 was a bit invigorating.

The 1250 Gamo my oldest borrowed would get it out there at 1600 FPS .177 with the new pellets.

Webley Vulcan .22. It will kill with a well-placed shot, and no need for silencers.

LOL!
Modern airguns make quite a noise. Gamo even makes one with a suppressor. If you make the mistake of leaving a little gun oil in the bore, you'll even get flame. ;)

The first repeating rifle was an airgun.
American Rifleman October 2006 issue had a good wrire up about it on page 67.
“The Airgun of Meriwether Lewis”.
It paid a large roll in the Lewis and Clark expedition!

RWS 36 shooter here. I’ve got an older FWB that needs to have the leather seals replaced. Just started out the boy on a Gamo Cadet.

Some of the Spring-Air guns would Diesel if you left much oil in the cylinder. In fact people would do that intentionally until they found out that certain seals were damaged by such action.
