Yep...go google Pantex flood an 60 million....:o)
1000 year flood.... Wuz damp indeed.
I have a SIL from White Plains who swore she’d never say “fixin to” after she moved here. Took her about 10 years.
Wow,
In 1939 there was a hurricane that went through here and stalled for 36 hours and dropped 19 inches.
5000 farm hands perished that night.
Port Myaka.
And hammered I did get.
Water in the yard but missed getting into the house by about a foot. There is now a jet ski in my yard.........I don’t own a jet ski. Water in the sheds and submerged my tractor.
Hell and it all happened in the wee hours of the morn’ while I was still asleep. Woke up, looked out the window, and damn near passed out when I saw what had happened in just a few hours.
I’ll post a pick later of the creek that cuts through my neighborhood. It usually doesn’t have but a trickle of water. The walls of the creek itself are about 5 - 7 feet high most of the way through the neighborhood. Went I took my kids to school this morning, the water was overflowing the banks into adjacent yards across the road. I had to take another way out this morning.
It’s unbelievable up here.
That's funny - nice to see your sense of humor hasn't been dampened by the deluge...
I am just east of you and it keeps splitting and going around us. We’ve had some small showers, but nothing like you had. This afternoon, the wind picked up and the skies were almost black, then, it rained for about 45 seconds and moved on.
No fair....come home !
My interwebs went out on my jetski three minutes after I mentioned starting a thread the other night, sorry!
Can’t wait to catch up -
