Knoxville officer's "ribs are sore" after shootout with murder suspect. (TN)

Knoxville Police Officer Brandon Stryker was wearing a bulletproof vest Friday when he was shot while attempting to arrest 54-year-old Michael Chesney.

Chesney was killed in the shootout with Stryker and other officers.

Chesney is suspected of fatally shooting Daniel Charles Giles, 60, a cashier at S&S Cafeteria in Bearden, on Thursday.

Thankful that the officer (an Iraqi war vet) is OK, and prayers up for the family of the cafeteria employee.

Stuff like this is why I am armed at KFC, Home Depot, or wherever. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Hehe.. Easy mistake in verbage. And yes, it hurts to get shot. Even with a BPV. But thank the lord for them. I’ve worn them in FL. during summer for years. The benefit is not being dead no matter how uncomfortable they are.
