If we spoke up more often, acted more often, less evil would be allowed to fester and grow acceptable in our society.
This happened to me Sat night. A small child jumped on stage and started playing with the guitar player’s $500 floor pedal. His mom grabbed his arm and pulled him away. Several minutes later I saw him spriting across the floor, intent on tweaking the pedal he had been denied earlier. I reached out and grabbed him by the arm and told him NO.
I’m glad she took it well...
It’s good that she was willing to discipline her kid and permit you to do so; too many parents these days don’t make the effort of consistent discipline.
The mother in the article, in contrast, ought to have spanked her child on the rear; striking a toddler in the face is abuse; a well-deserved swat to the bum is not.
