Mr. Meas prefers to identify as a Reagan Republican. Unlike the countless other Reagan votaries in the party, Mr. Meas offers a convincing claim that the 40th president was quite literally his personal savior. "I owe my life to him; he allowed me to come here and he fought Communism," he says.
He has an inspiring life story and it would be great if he actually won. He first has to get through a four-candidate primary before facing Niki Tsongas in the general.
I hope if Mr. Meas is elected, the first things he does is introduce himself to the other members of the House, particulary the Democrats (because it will drive them nuts,) by saying, “Hi, I am Sambo Meas. My friends call me Sam.”
