It was the Whole Foods founder, John Mackey.

Read more here. The article calls Mackey a right-wing hippie. It was motivated by Mackey's Wall Street Journal piece of last August 11: The Whole Foods Alternative to ObamaCare, subtitled "Eight things we can do to improve health care without adding to the deficit". The 'tards were not pleased. Some called for a boycott on WFM.
I agree on Trader Joe's, by the way. We have both TJ's and Whole Foods (aka Whole Paycheck
, according to the above-linked article) here, and I shop at both.
Yup - let’s be nice to Whole Foods folks cause the CEO is probably one of us.
Ditto Trader Joe’s. Owned by devout German Catholics. Sadly Theo Albrecht just passed away.

Oh and German Catholics generally do not practice that open borders and liberal American Catholcism that sickens me.
The German Catholicism that saved Europe from Islam twice in 1529 and 1683 AD.
I happen to love WFM and I remember this boycott. I shopped there that day, spent a lot of money, more than I would normally spend. There was no lack of customers that day because of the boycott but maybe there was more.
The WFM that I shop in is a small one, a huge one like the one in Austin TX, is planned for my area but I have not heard if my small one will be closed.
