(CHICAGO)(July 26, 2010) Let me start with two basic facts: First, we were all “sixteen” once. Second, Mark Kirk is a pathological liar.

Last Friday the Chicago Tribune carried a story analyzing Mark Kirk’s claim to have almost “drowned” in Lake Michigan:

Few detest Mark Kirk more than I do (and I’m stuck in his district for another five months, darn it), but be careful who you trust.

Andy Martin is a notorious sue-happy nut, famous for filing so many frivolous lawsuits over the years that he’s been restricted in his abilities to file lawsuits by a federal judge!

So, as bad a candidate as Kirk is — and oh yes, he genuinely is rotten, as candidates go! — we’re well advised to also avoid Andy Martin.

A pity, because Andy Martin is obviously right on some issues and right to oppose Kirk... but he’s not somebody that any activist in his right mind would seriously want to ally himself with.

King of the Rinos vs an openly corrupt, no-accomplishment Democrat pal of Obama. The Illinois Republican Party is awful. I really don't care who wins. Kirk is relentlessly pro-abortion, pro-cap and trade and said he would vote for Kagan if he were already in the Senate. He is a serial liar. I think I would prefer that the Democrat win: he is so obviously corrupt that a scandal or indictment could cripple his reign. With Kirk, we would get something worse: another Susan Collins or Olympia Snow.

Now I must admit, I did a lot of STOO-PID^™ things as a kid. Some pertained to swimming.

I was about 13, and I went swimming with a friend, his dad took us to some beach in Indiana to swim in Lake Michigan (Dad didn't swim). There were no life guards but Warning Signs posted about 'Under Tow'.

Well I knew 'Under Tow' from 'Under Schmo', so I went snorkeling in about 4 feet deep water and pretty soon got caught in the Under Tow and it was pulling me out into Lake Michigan. Luckily there was a 'Pier Post' in my path and I grabbed onto that as I was going 'out' (I was under water all this time) and held on until the waves and Under Tow was momentarily gone, then swam like hell to shallow water. But ten minutes later I was back in there snorkeling, just in 'much' shallower water.

And there was another time that I almost drowned too, before I knew how to swim. I was much younger but just as 'daring'. After that instance I learned how to swim.

Anywho, I don't get the beef about Kirk on this. Is Andy Martin jealous?

Or is he a Girlie Man who never climbed a tree, got in a snowball fight, hopped a freight train, got in a fist fight, play mumbley-peg with a Boy Scout Knife (did he even own a knife?), and never 'took chances' as a kid? Yeah, and Play Tarzan too. If that's so he can go cry on mama's skirt.

I'm NOT defending Kirk but Andy Martin sounds like the Homo here. (I'll bet he never fought over a girl. And I mean 'fight')

97% of things my friends and I did as 'kids' are now Illegal in all 50 states and most foreign countries:-)
