Officials said the twister struck at approximately 2:50 to 3 p.m., and cut a swath 100 yards wide and 0.6 miles long. The maximum wind speeds were around 100 mph, That's probably about as weak as a tornado can be.

That's probably about as weak as a tornado can be. I think the point is more that there was one at all, of any strength, in, of all places, the Bronx.
