WASHINGTON (AP) -- Sen. Richard G. Lugar, Indiana Republican, said Wednesday he'll vote to confirm Elena Kagan as a Supreme Court justice.
Mr. Lugar is the second in the GOP to announce he's breaking with his party to back President Obama's nominee to succeed retiring Justice John Paul Stevens.
Mr. Lugar said he carefully followed Ms. Kagan's confirmation hearing testimony and the debate about her nomination, including recommendations from his constituents, and concluded that she clearly is qualified to serve on the high court.

There’s always just enough OP(formerly the GOP) members voting for the socialist agenda.
Wonder what he got out of it.
When will Charlie Brown learn that Lucy always pulls the football away just before he kicks it?
How predictable.
IN needs two new senators.
What an unnecessary suckup to a failing president.
The average freeper is 10x more qualified than the hack Kagan.
Lugar should have officially left the party yrs ago
I suspect he's secretly anti-semitic.
Lugar’s one of the bad guys. A consistent vote for really bad ideas and a big advocate of globalism. He’s been trying to force the Law of the Sea ratification down our throats for years now.
My god Lugar drives me nuts. Every once in a while he comes out of the woodwork with some completely assinine thing. I really wish someone would step up and challenge him in a primary one of these days.
Lugar. Something you cough up.
IN and MN need 2 new senators and South Carolina needs 1. When are we going to see some sure-fire ex-military ultra conservative primary challengers to these faux Republicans? or is the fix in by the Republican establishment?
As Rush would say ‘he’s climbing that ladder to be one of the ruling class and go to their parties.’.
Much of the SCOTUS doesn’t even think she’s qualified to be on the SCOTUS.
He is part of the ruling class. That says it all.
The Hildabeast said in 2009 that ratification would be a priority. She hasn't been heard from since the day she said that, so no one knows if the Obamistas care.
Frankly, we don't need to ratify the treaty ~ others need to, but not us. We can impose boundaries and rights where we wish. That's why we have numerous aircraft carriers and ICBMs.
The BP well is located in a zone where we have rights because we say we have rights, but the UN Law of the Sea Treaty would concur in that ~
It’s spineless sad sacks like him and Lindsay that have pushed millions of conservatives out of the gop club.
A lot of people including myself have German last names. If he believes that the lefties would call him anti-semitic just because he wouldn’t vote for Kagen, then he’s way too senile to be a Senator.
These old fart RINO’s have got to go!!!
