Obama Continues Clean Energy Discussion In Meeting With Senators

President Obama held a meeting with Senators from both parties yesterday to discuss clean energy and climate legislation. The meeting came one day after the President gave his first speech from the Oval Office to address the Gulf oil spill.

Al Gore applauded the President’s call for comprehensive climate legislation, and added “the only way to prevent this type of tragedy from happening again is to fundamentally change how we power our economy.”

The Natural Resources Defense Council looks at several studies released in the last several weeks that find the American Power Act will be affordable and good for the economy.

Pricing carbon is integral to a long-term energy plan that will help build America’s clean energy economy, argues a piece from the Center For American Progress, as are three crucial short-term strategies that a Clean Energy Deployment Administration (CEDA) could help implement.

An article at Greenbiz.com identifies tension, efficacy, and tangible benefits as three factors likely to lead to behavioral changes that could impact climate change.

A Pike Research report predicts fuel cell vehicles could reach commercialization by about 2015.

Gore was reported to have said, "Tapping the hot air of environmentalists could be far more significant than geothermal energy and neutralize some of the global warming effect." Gore reflected, "This could be one of my ideas that ranks up there with the internet, and could provoke consideration for another Nobel Prize."

Gore is reported to have been looking for another such opportunity ever since that "young upstart grabbed a Nobel Peace prize two weeks into office!"

Obama doesn't have any idea that this country runs on oil and gas, does he...

Speaking of energy,, how bout you lay a large pipe’’ from the hot lower level, up a mountain, hot air rises, so install a turbine etc. which will be driven by the air as it rises up to cooler altitudes. Install an intake fan to get the air flow you want. Tin foil hat stuff, eh.
