Dita Von Teese has been immortalized on the side of a Virgin Atlantic plane to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the airline's direct flights between London and Las Vegas.
Virgin boss Richard Branson posed with the burlesque star on the wing of the aircraft on June 15 at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas as they unveiled a large picture of Von Teese emblazoned across the plane.
(Von Teese via Twitter.com): "Headed out to Las Vegas today.....Sir Richard is in charge, so I'm sure it's going to be fun. Stay tuned!"
"I've never actually walked on the wing of an airplane before... London to Vegas Virgin plane now has me as the flying lady painted on the side."

Now if the stewardesses look and dress like the models in her photo shoots then I’m going to be flying Virgin more often.

"Immortalized"?
First, how many people read the headline and thought "Wow! I didn't even know she had died!"
Second, do they really think this plane is going to last forever and never be repainted?

I prefer one with an American flag.

Whoa..I almost got head from Amelia Earheart....

True. But Branson wouldn’t use one. Sir Richard has other ideas.
He is one successful entrepreneur, no doubt about that.

I had thought nose art to be an American WWII thing, not British.
But a quick Google image search of Avro Lancaster + note art disabused me of the notion.

Reminds me of a great movie line.
"They train young men to drop fire on people. But their commanders won't allow them to write f#%k on their airplanes because it's obscene!"
