I don’t find any humor in this. After this man suffered and died to make atonement for the world and loves us more than we have ever experienced...how could we make fun of Him. Especially not now...not ever.

Its upsetting to hear the snarky comments not only here at Free Republic but also at the Cincinnati Enquirer. Everybody is getting their laughs in and meanwhile 2 miles up the road is a mosque with a 50+ foot minaret, if that had been struck would there be these comments?

My hope is that a bigger, stronger Jesus is built to replace it as soon as possible.

That's what I was thinking. I mean, he had everyone's attention. What greater stage?
Really, this statue was an embarrassment. I would quit my church and find a respectable one if they ever put up anything as stupid as the 'Big Butter Jesus'.
