As the story goes, the Transformers -- enmeshed in intergalactic battle -- traveled from the far-off planet of Cybertron all the way to earth in pursuit of an all-powerful talisman.

Why take out one of their own?
Except that the franchise is being handled by Michael Bay, so the plot is secondary to his main purpose, which is to get as many explosions and unwatchably-fast fight scenes on screen as possible.
I like Robot Chicken’s Transformer’s take better.

Hasn’t Bay heard of CGI?
Of course he has. What do you think he uses to make those unwatchable fight scenes? Actually, modeling CGI fireballs is one of the harder tasks, and very costly. It’s way cheaper to set off the real thing, even in difficult locations like DC. You can always use CGI to change the background. Even the big explosions only cost a couple thousand dollars, as opposed to tens of thousands (and many hours) to model it on the computer.
You missed the one where they make fun of trailers and have one of the movie “Explosions!!!” a Michael Bay Film...
Obama is a Transformer?
They have a “D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development” ??
.
Gee, I wonder who pays for that. Bet that “Director” of this office makes a pretty penny.
No, but he is a decepticon IMO...as in he deceives.
So he isn’t more than meets the eye!
