Music networks movie award show features 100 swears in 122 minutes.
"Ready to make the censors ears bleed?
Thats how Anna Kendrick summed up MTVs attitude toward decency June 6 during the networks annual Movie Awards broadcast.
It wasnt just the censors who endured a two-hour swear-fest. The television audience had the pleasure of hearing 30 percent of the vulgarities uttered throughout the night. A Culture and Media Institute review found the 122-minute show littered with at least 100 bleep-worthy words thats more than one per minute not including commercials.
The networks censors caught 70 curses. They included 47 variations of f---, 11 uses of s---, two of a------, one slang for breasts, and nine that were unidentifiable. "

Was Joe “Big F’ing Deal” Biden guest hosting?
I stopped watching MTV in the late 1980’s. Partly it was a result of growing older, but also I got sick of all the stupid reality shows and was missing out on the new music.
I’m old enough to remember when MTV played music and the Comedy Channel was funny.
An entire industry full of Clymers.
Same here. Maybe we can play some shuffleboard and have a walker race someday.
; )
MTV is still in business?
I watched MTV when Beavis and Butthead had it on their tv.
;)
You ever try finding music video’s anymore? VH1 sometimes, but even then its a lot of that I love the 70’s or 80’s or some such crap OR its pop up video’s. Just play some damn music video’s for pete’s sake!!!
Yeah, that's what YouTube is for.
“Im old enough to remember when MTV played music and the Comedy Channel was funny.”
I am old enough to remember when there was no cable TV, much less MTV, which I have never seen.
TV is nothing but a cesspool of garbage.
Can you imagine Bob Hope or Lucile Ball
saying any of the garbage that must be on TV today?
I am quite happy not to have it.
Or VH1 Classic.
That #8 is a great line, but could have been improved by
putting “only” in front of “ watched”
True. B and B’s reaction to the videos was hilarious.
Me too. Used to be a music channel. Now anything but music.
I watched in the early 80s when Martha Quinn, JJ Jackson and Nina Blackwood hosted.
I had a crush on Kennedy. Those glasses, and GOP Elephant tattoo drove me wild.
Geez, I haven’t watched MTV in over 30 years.
