Daniel Craig, best known as secret agent James Bond on the silver screen, used a fistful of cash to prevail in a battle for a Tribeca penthouse
The 42-year-old English actor and American film producer Satsuki Mitchell, who is Mr. Craig's longtime girlfriend, have bought the one-bedroom penthouse apartment on Warren St., which is expected to close next week.
They relied on an all-cash offer to seal the deal on the $1.9 million-listed apartment that had received multiple bids.

Although Craig, who’s British, can’t vote in the U.S. presidential election, he has a strong opinion about it anyway.
“I strongly feel there needs to be a new way forward,” Craig tells Playboy magazine in an interview on newsstands today. “Barack Obama is pushing things in the right direction. I’m excited about the election. Unfortunately, things will probably get dirty. I hope Obama can stay above the fray … I’m hopeful for the first time in a long, long while. It’s one of the most exciting elections in my lifetime.”
“I finally ask this British actor a deeply American question: “Who do you think would be the better James Bond—Barack Obama or John McCain?”
Craig doesn’t hesitate. “Obama would be the better Bond because—if he’s true to his word—he’d be willing to quite literally look the enemy in the eye and go toe-to-toe with them. McCain, because of his long service and experience, would probably be a better M,” he adds, mentioning Bond’s boss, played by Dame Judi Dench. “There is, come to think of it, a kind of Judi Dench quality to McCain.””
