That would be the NY Yankees award for the biggest choke actually.

In one of the post game interviews one of the Flyers said “we just wanted to go down swinging”. It’s all about the heart.
Actually it almost ALWAYS that simple. For 15 minutes Boston owned the ice, aggressive forechecking, getting 14 shots and allowing 5, they built a strong lead. Then they went into prevent, stopped owning the ice, stopped forechecking at all, got 4 shots and allowed 14. Then it was tied and they were playing scared. Barry Melrose likes to joke that the 3 goal lead is the most dangerous in hockey because it seems so big and evaporates so quickly, they proved Barry right. If they’d kept playing after scoring the 3rd goal the way they played to get those 3 goals they’d be getting ready to host the Canadiens Sunday. But they made the classic sports mistake of being satisfied with their lead instead of trying to grow it.

That’s where the TEAM makes the difference. They either know to dance with who brung them, or they don’t. 1 guy doesn’t make that decision, 18 guys do. Case closed, Boston had the chance to win without Krecji and blew it.
