Mother's Day isn't to celebrate yourself for being a mother...it's to celebrate the mother who gave you life and nurtured your soul. We all had one. THAT's what you should be celebrating, Ann. It's not all about you. If you can't forgive the shortcomings of your own mother, at least you can resolve to be a better person yourself and just be grateful for the sacrifices she made for you; no doubt they are innumerable.
P.S. I was blessed to have the greatest, sweetest, most magnificent mother ever.
